The loved ones of 3rd generation farmer Jim Ferguson has owned this Victorian property, about 20 kilometres west of Shepparton, because its inception in 1928. Recognized as The Farmstead Tatura, the assets includes 70 acres inclusive of a sprawling five acre backyard.
Jim’s mother Di earlier made a wonderful flowering plan encompassing the dwelling that experienced slowly and gradually diminished in excess of time, until eventually Jim’s lover Emily McEachern moved to the farm.
‘When Di left the property, Jim worked on taking out the backyard garden beds and was concentrating on getting a neat garden and trees as he did not have time for upkeep,’ explains Emily. ‘I feel there were being about five roses still left, but the spot was stuffed with wonderful trees which include ginkgo, numerous maples, weeping elms, and crab apples…I just needed to recreate the color.’
The first buy of business enterprise was putting in some new fences and tidying up the back garden that had accumulated all sorts of odd bits and parts around the decades. ‘Generational farms get plenty of previous “important” things…’ claims Emily.
